Where it is

The comprehensive plan’s Ocee chapter describes the area as bounded on the west by the City of Alpharetta; on the north by Abbotts Bridge Road; on the south by Jones Bridge Road and the subdivisions of West Morton Road; and on the east by the neighborhoods along Parsons Road and Medlock Bridge Road. The city’s map layer puts it at about 2,354 acres.

The plan counts 15,681 residents in 2022. It says Ocee has the largest number of small and medium-sized subdivisions in the city, most built in the 1980s and 1990s, and some older ones from the 1970s, such as Long Indian Creek, Colony Glen and Willow Run. It counts three major shopping centers: two at State Bridge and Jones Bridge Roads and the Grande Pavilion at State Bridge and Kimball Bridge Roads. The city opened Fire Station 64 at 4795 Kimball Bridge Road in May 2021, the plan says.

The plan proposes rezoning the shopping centers at those two corners to low-intensity mixed use with offices and homes, with a greenway leading to the corner of Jones Bridge and State Bridge Roads. Rezoning agendas are on the city’s meeting portal.

Of the area’s 6,265 address points in the school district’s map data, 98% are in ZIP code 30022 and the rest in 30005. Many mailing addresses read “Alpharetta,” but the area is inside Johns Creek city limits, so the city provides police, fire and road services.
